I ordered a Stealth and an Enduro about two weeks ago. Got an e-mail saying that the Stealth was backordered but received the Enduro (pink) in ten days (in Canada). since they were out of the 512Meg unit they sent me the 1Gig at no additional charge and no shipping. I had to pay $8 duty however.
It came packaged in the usual hard plastic with a printed cardboard backing. The shipping label called it a "thumb drive". The text included the Cyber key symbol and the logo "secure storeage on teh move".
As well it listed the following features:
Plug-and-Play High Endurance 10 Year Data
Secure Portable Storage Device Digital Rights Management Application Launcher PurePrivate By SpyCop
With more product specifications on the reverse side. Along with Cyber's address and web address a lifetime warranty statent and in pretty small type the following:
"To download software and drivers visit www.cyberkeycorp.com
I guess that's the documentation. Only now noticed the printing on the back.
Under Encryption it said: Files and Folders, 128 Automatic
Unfortunately there was no accompanying user's manual so I didn't know if and how to make use of the security feature. I wrote to the company a was told to go to the website and download some drivers before saving anything to the unit.
I haven't tried it yet as I had loaded it with data to start with. Some written instructions with the unit would have been helpful.
I looked up PurePrivate and SpyCop. A product and company in the data security businesss. Not sure how they relate to CyberKey. Do they provide the security software? Then what does Cyber do?
Not sure.
Anyway the unit works fine. It also has an LED which is red when in use.
I just received a Ramp Silver 8 GB Cyberkey to back up my appraisal reports. Ordered it on line. It took 3 Days from order to delivery. It's hard to believe that this small Cyberkey can hold 8 gigs of info.
