Yesterdays PR was terrific. Brilacidin was found to be virucidal which means it can kill viruses shortly after contact. It also IMO confirms the viral mechanism of action of opening the viral coat or capsid. As Leo stated this property is unique and important as virtually all antiviral pharmaceuticals are virustatic which means they have to penetrate the viral coat and interrupt the process of viral replication which reduces the viral load but is much slower.

The fact that Brilacidin cleared 75% of the virus in one hour confirms its potency. When combined with its long half life of several days after one IV dose it means it could be quite versatile and suggests a variety of different uses against Covid 19.

Brilacidin may prove effective as a single IV dose when people are first diagnosed, especially the elderly and chronically ill to prevent serious complications.

It could be given to health care workers {or Presidents} exposed to Covid19 after exposure to prevent infection.

It could be combined with other antivirals which are virustatic to produce complementary results such as Remdesivir in patients with early pulmonary symptoms to protect against pulmonary failure.

IMO yesterdays PR means Brilacidin is almost certain to be in multilple clinical trials for a variety of indications in Covid19 infections.
