Is it your opinion that the antibodies confer immunity on the person having them? Maybe partial immunity like the flu vaccines?



We don’t *know* for sure. But it is *very* likely that if you’re positive for antibodies that you will have at least enough immunity to mitigate severity. (Certainly this is true in Common Cold Coronaviruses).

Big uncertainties:

1) how much do antibodies prevent a future (milder) infection from being transmitted?

2) how long does the immunity last (for Common Cold Coronaviruses the antibody levels drops more than is usual, and it is well accepted that the immune system forgets some viruses faster than others). Again, id be very surprised if it forgets entirely in less than a few years. But after that ... it’s unknown.
