Here is the SEC's rationale of suspending companies like DECN:

SEC Trading Suspensions. SEC staff actively monitors trading activity, and the SEC can suspend trading in any stock for up to 10 days when it believes that information about a company is inaccurate or unreliable.

The final cause is SEC action.

What about the efficient cause, the formal cause, or the material cause? There are orders of complexity here, layers of nuance. Pushing the boulder is not the same as crushing the house, but it is part of the final destruction.

As many have noted, the truth about all the causes may never be revealed, since so much is behind the veil of secrecy.



That is a tired view, at least in this case. I bet nobody complained. Shareholders were reveling in the PPS going higher and MM's were making a killing trading the stock.

The fact is it went from .015 to .50 and the SEC / AG were clear that they wanted no BS regarding companies making COVID claims.
