Perhaps you can shed light on why an "investor" would declare a "banner year" for himself when his "investment" is down? Most investors who are long a stock would think a banner year is when their investment is UP, not DOWN.

Usually someone would only be pleased when a stock is down only if they are short the stock, or not in it at all and hate it for some reason.
