The process of writing is a complex one. Sometimes, though, the words seem to write themselves. That short essay was one of those times. It was fun to write and what a great topic and opportunity!
While I'm at it allow me to clarify my comments in ref: to Dr. Trevor Kane, of whom I think the world and who has my heartfelt respect and admiration. They were meant half tongue-in-cheek and half friendly advice, albeit unsolicited. A good example to follow would be Dr. Malcolm Fraser of Notre Dame who he probably already knows.
Watch him in some the videos he made. He's downright avuncular. Friendly and approachable whilst explaining what is going on with spider silk. Good role model. Trevor, you survived the first time and you will get many more chances in front of the mike. You'll do fine, I'm sure.
I grew about around nerds, technicians, & engineers. I know their personalities and they usu'ly have a wonderfully witty sense of humor. I suspect Trevor does, too, but that video conf was not the proper venue to showcase it, unfortunately.
