Nobody wants those NOL’s. If the use of NOL’s against taxable income is understood, then it would be known the tax break wouldn’t have paid the debt.
If anybody wanted the NOL’s, they could have submitted a bid during the SISP for the company, and there was no reason not to. Nobody did, as it seems that paying for the shares from the shareholders, then paying off the debt the company had made it a losing proposition big time.
