Two of the most relevant tipping points in footwear - Hushpuppies and Crocks - did not need a celebrity to move it. It was the word of mouth about comfort and a competitive price point.

Skins has the cool factor down, and might be comfortable, but can it compete with footwear priced 75% less? If not, regardless of who buys it, it will just be another product that only the tribal rich and famous wear.

I suggest learning more about tipping points and market epidemics if you want to forecast consumer viability. The book 'The Tipping Point' by Malcolm Gladwell is a good primer before digging into harder consumer psychology titles. My favorite is "How Customers Think" by Zaltman, because it brings in more scientific research than just statistics.
