Generally, what they will probably do is lay out a square in whatever direction looks the most likely. They will use the existing well as one corner, and drill the other 3 corners, with the 5th, in the center. Not always, but more often than not, when a gameplan like this seems reasonable. Naturally, the formations have a lot to do with choosing to drill this way.
