I believe for the testing to be really effective, the antibodies test has to be combined with a test detecting actual virus as antibodies may not show up in a bloodstreams for 1-2 weeks from the time of initial infection.

I guess checking people’s temperature is pretty useless on asymptomatic carriers of the virus

Please define asymptomatic. Who concludes a virus victim meets some vague criteria about having no symptoms? It is not "black and white". The "conclusion" is based on what the victim reports. If the victim has a 100 degree temperature, but doesn't know about the 100 degree temperature, it will not be reported. Voila! The victim is defined as asymptomatic!

Very simply, if the symptoms are mild, the victim may not even know the symptoms existed. However, if any undetected symptoms did in fact exist, the reported asymptomatic victim was really not asymptomatic at all. Unfortunately, there's no way to go back and find out. With regards to a thermometer, the real question becomes, "How many of those who are claimed to be asymptomatic, actually had a fever?" And the answer is, "NOBODY KNOWS!"

It appears the people that do the research and statistics will have to determine the role of a thermometer in SCREENING, not testing, for the COVID-19 virus!

BTW...avoiding any confusion, measuring a person's temperature serves no purpose after the symptomatic or asymptomatic victim has recovered; however, both will carry COVID-19 antibodies. A fever is only associated with an ACTIVE virus infection.
