HeyBlue, even if CytoDyn charges $4000 per patient, the price for 10,000 patients is $40 million. This is less than pocket change for the USG. Think $2 trillion stimulus package. It should not effect the decision by FDA in allowing max distribution. But I would hope Cydy gets the money up front because the government is slow at payment. My worry would be who would control distribution of the drug and assume the logistical burden. It could take a couple of weeks for them to get up and become competent to decide on priorities. They would have to establish a system to determine where to send the vials and how many vials to send. They have had major challenges in distributing the national stock piles. I don’t know that they have the systems in place. So I am hopeful for such a grant, but also worry.
