Not to turn this into a political thread, but it was Bush and the energy companies that screwed California during the energy crisis (price-gouging, etc.), and it was a wealthy Republican who financed the recall campaign.

If I were paranoid, I'd say that the whole thing was planned from the start - screw California, blame it on the Democratic Governor, wait until things were at their worse point, then finance a major recall campaign, and get a popular actor to run.

LOL! Good thing I'm not paranoid!
