Using a modified slr camera (google says over $500, for a basic) and over 30 days, taking 2500 photos of their own hands. Youd have to find someone you know is already in the biometric system, spend a month doing nothing but taking pics of their hands, then test it, without even guaranteeing it will work. Doesnt seem realistic to real world application, only a lab.
