I've assumed the different VOD platforms were revenue competitive, despite the different revenue methods/metrics. Most VOD platforms rely on ad revenue, so revenue to content providers is just a redistribution of that ad revenue.
It looks like the shelter-in-place may go on for at least another month. Local schools currently have a restart date in May. It still should be a long enough time to affect revenues at a visible level. Q2 is not normally a high revenue quarter for home entertainment (although, second half of RR hasn't started yet).
Social distancing and shelter-in-place are supposed to help stop the spread of COVID-19, so if the death rate is low, officials will claim it worked.
I thought the hoarding of toilet paper and other items was silly, but, now that stores lack these items, I find it less silly.
I don't know how bad CORVID-19 is. I agree with you, too many deaths are being attributed to it, with people dying of something else.
How much is political and how much is real? It's hard to overlook what is happening in New York. We don't normally hear of hospitals being overwhelmed during flu season.
