I had two uncles, each a brother of one of my parents, die from Parkinson's. I visited with one several months before he died. He was in a nursing home and couldn't move; was essentially dead weight. The nurses would turn him over every hour or so, 24/7, so he wouldn't get bed sores. They had to feed him and clean him. He couldn't do anything for himself. And to think, he was, at one time, an independent person like the rest of us, driving a car, running a business, raising a family, etc.
