Granted big retail has taken a big hit this year..Sears and Kmart come to mind.
Just remember though Rotmans Furniture is not a chain or a Franchise.
It’s a family owned business that has been in business for generations. As a family owned business they have flexibility that chain stores lack.
Looking at the big picture I am sure Steve Rotman saw the trend in retail and knew diversification was the only way to survive. I believe that the downsizing of Rotmans Furniture was already in their business plan but the Coronavirus sped up the timeline exponentially.
This is no surprise. We shareholders already know this. They’ve already told us their plans to open smaller stores in many locations specializing in Amish hand crafted furniture and Vytex beds and pillows.
Rotman is changing and adapting to meet the challenge of a changing business environment.
