gfp: The fund is actively managed. It includes royalty stream companies, mining companies, and a sprinkling of pure exploration companies at low percentages in the portfolio. So it has exposure to multiple layers in the precious metal space. I just want a place to park $50 K that is segregated from my other holdings that I can independently track. If I only bag a triple in the fund over the next several years I still end up far better off than if I had held the policy until death. Not only can I enjoy the money while we're alive, but it eliminates the risk that The Equitable goes under by the time the markets bottom in 2022 or 2023.
