Do they charge you for the electronic transfer? TD Ameritrade does a $30 buck wire charge expensive..I might have to switch to E-Trade if there is no transfer charge from my checking account

I use Schwab and ditto everything you’ve said below, the key is get a margin account. I’ve used it for years and love it.

Not all are like that.
I have used E-trade for years now.
I have a margin account.
I use their electronic funds transfer program to send funds to and from my personal checking account,
When I transfer to my e-trade account, funds are immediately available for purchase.
When I take monies out of E-trade is takes about 2-3 days for chase to settle out of pending cash.
