A Nazareth attorney faces criminal charges and a lawsuit by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission alleging he persuaded clients to invest in global business opportunities that didn’t exist.

An indictment, filed in federal court in February but unsealed Tuesday, alleges Lahr formed THL Holdings in 2012 to raise and invest money for business deals with a partner identified in the SEC lawsuit as Thomas Megas. Megas is not charged in the indictment but is a defendant in the SEC lawsuit.
