That's just the way it works. The shares on the market are irrelevant. They issue more or buy more to reflect other market conditions.

TVIX is just a number correlated to other percentages.

It is not a stock. It is totally legal for the price to be manipulated as long as it follows the prospectus.

How else would you think it can follow other indicators on a percentage basis if the price was determined by supply and demand?

You aren't buying a percentage of shares.

You are buying a number, that is trying to capture short sharp movements in securities.

Do not try to trade like a stock. The possibility for more shares are infinite.

Catch a move, then lock profits. rinse repeat.

Never try to accumulate this product.
