Here is a nice example of the level of control that big pharma has on situations regarding their bottom line. A few years ago there was a kink in the system and people in the US were able to get their prescriptions filled in Canada at a much lower price than what people were paying here for the same meds. The way this worked was you submitted your valid prescription written by your US Dr. to which ever Canadian company you were dealing with and they would have one of their Docs review and ok the presription. Since Doctors there have Government controlled earnings this openned the door to extra income just by reveiwing and aproving the prescription. Then the meds were shipped to the patient in the US. I am sure everyone remembers all the whining about this. Well in January a few years back our President Mr. Bush made a little trip to Canada and shortly after his return (within days), an announcement was made in Canada that their Doctors would no longer be allowed to co-sign US prescriptions. It was also stated that the Canadian government wanted to make sure they had enough medication for their own Country. Why do you think that happened? Big Pharma was losing money and W made it go away. IMO
