I’m not doubting your point about the government’s dishonesty but what I can say is that they haven’t taken the virus lightly. They pretty much banned ANYBODY that had been to China in the last 14 days from entering The country, that also put this ban in place almost a month ago. No mean feat considering the level of trade between the countries & that they share a border!

My Wife was a teacher there and her old work friends have not returned to work since Tet (late January)!! I can’t speak for the rest of it but they’ve definitely taken some strong measures to prevent the spread, far more than any western nation that’s for sure (except for Italy in the last week).......
