First, you are using old #s. The article you posted is a day old. 12 have died in Italy, not 7. You can confirm that in many places on the Internet. Here is another link from within Italy itself:

Second, you can't just automatically assume that everyone that catches the Coronavirus will recover. The majority of cases are still fighting the virus, and have not had an outcome yet. You have to wait until those cases have either recovered or died. To date, there have only been 15 outcomes in Italy - 3 have recovered and 12 have died. That is an 80% death rate.
