Oh, it was shorted alright. They needed the short position to be legit so the sheep would buy. But the cover was acquired directly from the company at par or a huge discount to market. Shorty had his cover in already hand when he shorted, courtesy of Mike Alexander. They were probably sold on the ask to a cover account after the stock died.
