They don't know what the share price will be several months from now and they don't even know which tier of NASDAQ they will qualify for: $2.00 minimum bid or $4.00 minimum bid. They would be guessing like everyone else is at the moment. The article did give examples ranging in size, that would likely cover any scenario we are in at the future time of split.
