Indeed, this is a much more serious situation than the Chinese government and media have led us to believe. The virus has a 9 day latency period. In other words, you can be spread it for 9 days before you realize you even have it as the symptoms don’t manifest until then. That’s why people being brought home are being quarantined for two weeks to be sure they don’t have it.
