Because gay bashing and forbidding gays to have civil unions and marry helped the evil one get elected. Heck VA just passed a law that eliminated her significant other to have any legal connection to the child they both will raise.

Now what special rights do gays have that come at your expense. I know what rights they don't have that came from the religious bigots.
