#16481 RE: solarules #16474

You are correct but humans don't give a crap! Humans are like folks playing poker on the deck of the Titanic who are NOT going to quit the game until someone rakes in the pot (of gold) even if they are already 30 feet under water!
I know for certain that separating H2 from water (i.e. like HYSR) is not the answer and has not ever come close to being viable.
I think however there are obvious answers or at least approaches that have huge merit, but I don't know the current economics.

My favorite is zero carbon (or less) energy production has long been algae and electrolysis. Algae has the advantage that it can be used to produce both Hydrogen gas and biodiesel. Algae takes Carbon (as CO2) and manufactures triglycerides which are convertible into biodiesel. However, recently shown it can economically produce Hydrogen as seen (e.g.)from:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrogen_production

If that really is getting ready then that is a natural way (i.e algae) to clean the atmosphere, produce renewable energy and sequester Carbon - NOW! That process can easily use electricity from solar, wind, along with H2 production from "renewables" driven electrolysis.

I am certain that we (humans) are past reversing the damage to earth and life on earth from our own energy greed and stupidity. But we should be able to stabilize a set point and start a process of rebuilding if possible. It requires doing something NOW, not trying to develop hopeless means of producing energy.
