Can Sonochemistry take place in the absence of cavitation? – A complementary view of how ultrasound can interact with materials.
Timothy J Mason, Director of the Sonochemistry Applied Research Centre, Coventry University, Coventry CV1 5B
This (My) research started 30 years ago when I was appointed as a lecturer in chemistry at what was then called Lanchester Polytechnic and is now Coventry University. Thus began my long-term research interest in what has now become known as sonochemistry. My own team contains researchers from the fields of biology, chemistry, environmental science, food technology, material science and pharmacology. This gives the sort of combination of different backgrounds that allowsthe development of new ideas for research across the boundaries of their individual disciplines. So this is what makes me so optimistic about sonochemistry. I think it provides an ideal model for linking scientific disciplines to expand scientific knowledge through opening the closed doors of specialist science.

PCT Europe: Currently an antimicrobial test program of the PCT Annihilyzer Infection Control System is commencing with two local universities.Upon successful completion, expected around mid-March 2020, the first PCT commercial installation in the UK should begin daily operation in the designated hospital. The success of this system is expected to directly lead to at least four other UK hospitals requesting an installation by early summer. Amazing growth potential in international market in short time.
