What would be strange about that? All companies get criticized (and their share price punished) if their revenue misses guidance. Telling shareholders $1M licensing fee was coming and not confirming that is a miss. Positioning for $7M-$10 and not reporting that is a miss. And, a fair target for criticism whether the company is QMC or IBM.
On the other hand, I don't think that forecasting, let's say $X million, and hitting that number will be criticized. Overhyping the $X million by unrealistic sycophants with a poor track record, might get criticized though if it is an effort to position the result to be something more than it is.
