fung_derf, Actually a stock split will not happen until after
management has a compensation package or incentive that gives
them a bonus based on stock performance...In this case a split
announcement will boost the share price so management will want
that to happen at a point in time when it will benefit...them.

People never take into account the impact of stock splits when it comes to stock transfer fees paid by the company.
