I agree, to be on the cusp for so long is just getting more frustrating. I’m starting to feel like I’m being strung along here, and I don’t appreciate it.

A self-imposed silent period, or no news to report?

Thompson has long been quiet about the most important issues that matter to shareholders (and presumably to competitors as well). We don’t know much about DS 2 or even DS1. We don’t know what products Polartec wants to produce. We don’t know much about how long it will take to reel the silk in Vietnam.

Thompson announces things like ‘We’re moving the worms to Prodigy.’ And ‘We had a grand opening of Prodigy (even though we don’t have a lease on the building.)

The recent string of PRs perfectly illustrates this pattern. Following the announcement that eggs were hatching in Vietnam, it was pretty easy to project the timing of the next several PRs.

I don’t think we are in a silent period now. I think the next step to announce will be the completion of reeling. That hasn’t happened yet, so no news. I hope this will occur within the next 10 days, but that’s nothing more than a wild-ass guess.
