Liberty followed the rules set out by the state that required tight controls on licenses issued and the requirement to cultivate, process and distribute through state appointed dispensaries. Changing the game at this point would be very unfair to Liberty. The licenses alone were millions of dollars. To me, it’s akin to the medallions issued to taxi drivers in NY that sold for as high as $1M and then Uber drivers are admitted without the expense of acquiring a medallion. It’s a difficult decision for the state government and that’s why it’s going to be heard at the state’s Supreme Court. There are other issues as well.
