So tell me Mr. Wizard...……..why are you in this then? Not for the dividends? Not for the long-term capital gains? Seems to me you can't have the long-term capital gains without the dividend.

So, explain to me again how getting paid a huge dividend, on a rapidly appreciating stock is a bad thing. I gotta see this math. Don't worry if the arithmetic is over my head, I've got a calculator to help me with the complicated stuff.

Helping is so graceful.
Taxation is expected on profit so as long as your up in profits at least you are making money and remaining liquid when your moving around.
I don’t ever want to own any stock long term until I’m old, except this house and my truck.
I’m an incredibly defensive trader that beats the S&P but monthly usually.

My dividends and gains will only be taxable when I withdraw from my IRA. Long term gains, short term gains and dividends all go into the same pot.
