Yes, no doubt the alarm we had last night for war has subsided now. Trump doesn't want to go to war with Iran on a long term basis because that would IMO put his chances for reelection in jeopardy.
It was obvious too that Iran missed hitting any American soldiers on purpose. They didn't want to get the Hell bombed out of them if U.S. troops had been killed, so both sides were giving each other outs.
I don't believe this is over by any stretch of the imagination. Trump is putting the screws to the Iranian leadership and if Trump gets reelected they will be out before his second term ends IMO. Even if that means going to war during his second term. I think Trump wants to take out Iran's capability of having any nukes.
As far as what's happened with gold since Trump made it obvious the U.S. wouldn't retaliate immediately, it's not surprising gold has sold off. Risk off is bad for gold. End of story.
