It appears that none of you have ever worked in an office in a country that celebrates both Christmas and New Years.

Scheduling anything for the last half of December is asinine. Almost all of the management staff are on Vacation and most of the workers are gone as well. Not only in your company but in every company that you might have an interface.

Somewhere, something that was scheduled didn't happen on time and there were not sufficient experienced managers or staff to effectively handle the situation. During the last 2 weeks of December, a small thermonuclear device could be exploded in any office without any employee being at risk of even a scratch.

By the second week of January, sufficient staff will be back on the job to deal with the issues. Until then, people without knowledge will speculate and probably be wrong.

Cool - Your post was a most interesting analyses of the situation.

I thought your scenario 2 was a particular good piece of stickhandling, although I think scenario 3 is a more likely reason for the delay.
