I have been through the patent process several times.

Absolutely no way you want your product patented quickly.

You want to keep it pending as long as possible. You know why?

As soon as the patent is approved, there are drawings of your product up on the U.S. patent website.

While pending, there is no public drawings or proprietary information made available to the public.

As far as patents goes as long as the application is lodged first by RMSL then they get the patent.

The important thing to remember is that patents are granted on a first come first served basis.

Well you're completely INCORRECT. A "patent pending" stops anyone from duplicating the unique features of a product, because if and when the patent is awarded, those who copy will owe!
