I also use etrade. Are you planning to put in an after hours trade? If so, yes if you put in a limit order and if its below, it will go in at the current price. As long as your limit order is higher than the trading price you should be good.
If you plan to do it during regular hours, you can put in a limit or market order and you should be good.
Fyi, never put in a market order for these stock pennies. Since its low volume trading the computers/algorithms will kill you.
