The reason why I can't sell my GERS stock at the current price of 3½¢ (down from 4.1¢ earlier today) is because the horribly low trading volume means that anyone who tries to sell tens of thousands of shares (that's my rough total) will have to accept a much lower price when his order is executed.

I just checked with Ameritrade. They say that the bid price of 3¢ applies to a bid to buy 10k shares. I have a multiple of that number, so if I tried to sell all of my shares, I would have to accept an even lower price.
