Understand that KMAG as a Corporation is governed by State Statutes, while the Ticker is governed Federally.

A simple (hypothetical) explanation is:
KMA Toy Store is a retail store with a permit to operate granted by the City. The store leases space in a Mall (owned by the Government). .KMA Toy store goes out of business,and liquidates all its product. It still has a lease on the space in the Mall. That space is a "shell" and has value and the lease terms are governed by the Feds.
