#178864 RE: zj3001 #178859

maybe im thinking about this wrong but I find all the speculation about "who is buying" a bit confusing..

we have a commitment to polartec..that partnership was announced and did well for the pps...they want our silk and were willing to announce that...no one else has been willing to do that...

kim has already stated that the first silk was going to them..

why are we wondering who the silk is going to?..

sure the first batch is going exceed what kblb has produced in the past..but kblb has never made any significant amounts of silk ever..what silk they have made was basically in a lab environment...

so yea...im sure we are breaking kblb records...I think 2 kilos would break the record..but in the grand scheme of things, a few hundred kilos is a paltry amount for polartec...they want and need far more than that..

are we supposed to be thinking that some portion of this first batch is going to a gorilla like nike??..and that they are going to sign a contract?..for what to them is essentially a thimble full of silk?..

next year, we are projected to produce all of 8 tons...why would nike or UA or any other gorilla sign a contract to receive an amount they can do nothing with?...

if they were willing to do that they would have already announced their collaboration with kblb and would have produced prototypes like what has been done with spiber, bolt threads and the rest of them...

polartec alone can easily use up everything we make...

I can see, MAYBE, a medical manufacturer signing a contract for silk to use as sutures...that would be big imo...especially if marketed correctly..

what contracts are people expecting?..
