CNBC has learned that a secretive team within Apple’s growing health unit has been in talks with developers, hospitals and other industry groups about bringing clinical data, such as detailed lab results and allergy lists, to the iPhone, according to a half-dozen people familiar with the team. And from there, users could choose to share it with third parties, like hospitals and health developers.

After many months of rumors, Apple announced that it is launching a personal health record (PHR) feature with iOS 11.3, the beta of which launched Wednesday to users in Apple's iOS Developer Program. The feature, called Health Records, will aggregate existing patient-generated data in the Health app with data from a user's electronic medical record — if the user is a patient at a participating hospital. At launch, Apple is working with 12 hospitals across the country, including Penn Medicine, Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, Johns Hopkins, and Geisinger Health System.

Arrayit's current TeleHealth services available through its marketing partner:

“Order your home IgE allergy test kit today.
Just four drops of blood from a single finger stick – no phlebotomy, no lab visits, no doctor appointments. After testing is complete, results are available to view online, followed by a video chat with a physician (not available in all areas). AllergyGenius is the most convenient and simple allergy testing kit available.”

It appears that Athenahealth has worked with Apple Inc before to develop applications that leverage Apple’s mobile health services.

At the end of 2017, Healthy Plus (who markets Arrayit’s finger stick sub-brand Allergenex) announced a newly integrated application for Athenahealth's growing healthcare provider network. Athenahealth currently has more than 114,000 providers and 110 million patients.

Are there even ties between Healthy Plus & Aetna (see the joint benefit plan below)? Aetna also has a partnership with Apple Inc and CVS Health has plans to acquire Aetna.
