bitcoin from my understanding was created to unhinge from the financial system of 2008, which had proven itself to be corrupt. until such time as the asset moves independently from that corrupt system we accommodate/adapt. cme and bakkt in my opinion are the indicators to watch, when btc moves independently from those types of control mechanisms it's game on. imo citizens will prefer actual btc in their wallet which unlike other derivatives is possible.
