#97826 RE: Gator38 #97818

Gator, some advise....the mom and pops are where to target. Smoke shops probably the best. The convenience stores except for 7/11 are mostly corporate listings so dropping off samples at anything other than 7/11’s is not likely to be fruitful. Local rules may apply. Dropping off samples to mom and pop places/grocers/cig shops and then returning next day the same person (manager) is there has a success of about 20% in my experience. Based on 100+stops. One thing ya can do is give em a case of each and if they sell, they agree to re-order. Many of these people are looking for deals sorry to say...and they know they got ya by the balls....that puts the pain in your groin at least for the short term. But they typically do re-order, especially if ya stop by and gave em the initial stock.... All stores want a constant regular drive by- re deliver. As you found out... they not gonna order a pallet so you can come by in 6 months. Where would they put it? (What were you thinking?). Usually they want a weekly or biweekly drive by, even if they don’t restock weekly. As relationships grow ya can text with em, but managers change...so unless your relationship is with the owner....it’s a lot of driving. Kind of sucks. That’s my takes on being a distributor. There is a reason that Nevada beverage has a wharehouse The size of the airport here in vegas. It’s all about scale. The little guys brought Kona to where she is...I played my part, but with a few exceptions like Bloodguard, the little guy start ups are a thing of the past....I was doing it part time...but top notch...just not the right location. All corporate and even in the 7/11’s, such tight shelf space....as in no shelf space. I don’t regret it though...and I sold enough Kona that I have the rights to her for 12 months here in Nevada because of wonky Nevada laws....that was my other reason for doing this.....if ya feel it...do it. I only lost some money on the deal cause I gave away so many and had a wharehouse. Don’t get a wharehouse till ya need one.....also if ya got a pickup....tell Kona ya don’t need a lift gate. Just back her up. But if ya order 4 pallets to avoid shipping fees, ya need 4 trucks.
I know it was long...still worth the journey. For those still reading.....I was so close to getting us in Albertsons. 150 store trial. Then nationwide if it did well. Just did not happen. Yet. Come on FDA!!!!! And I know Kona has no cbd, but did not matter. Someday.
Here is the take home....
If little old me was that close to an Albertsons deal....I know these new hires will get it done. Peace!
