<< I think that this first round will be for moths AS WELL AS silk. Nowhere does it say that all worms will be allowed to grow into moths. >>

That is incorrect. The PR clearly states:

"The entire population of emerging silk moths, from this first production cycle, will be dedicated to breedstock population expansion"

"I think that this first round will be for moths AS WELL AS silk. Nowhere does it say that all worms will be allowed to grow into moths"

as I read it, that exactly what it said...it is ALL worms to moths..

"The entire population of emerging silk moths, from this first production cycle, will be dedicated to breedstock population expansion, resulting in a more than a 100x increase in silkworm egg production and preparing for what the Company believes will be its largest production batch, scheduled for November."

THE ENTIRE POPULATION OF EMERGING SILK MOTHS, FROM THIS FIRST SILK PRODUCTION CYCLE...

that means all of them...I don't know how it can interpreted as anything but that...

around nov 16, they will be initiating their largest production batch...

The PR left no doubt in my mind that this round is for BREEDING. If all eggs are allowed to develop into moths , that makes the silk from cocoons un-usable. Not sure how you arrived at a different conclusion. It’s right there in the PR.

“I think Jon was trying to brag about 100x increase in egg production“

Not sure how you got that G?

I believe he was being extremely conservative.
As each worm lays anywhere from 300-500 eggs

One generation of our cyborg eggs is a massive amount of silk

1) The first batch of worms are growing.

While this is true, it has to be reconciled with;

"The completion of this first wave of production is validating the Company’s business model and its transgenic spider silk silkworms."

To borrow a Clinton-ism, it depends what the meaning of is ...is. If you take it to mean something that is not happening currently, but will happen, then the first batch is not complete. I take it to mean that it already "is validating" the business model.

Still, these cocoons will be for eggs as stated. I have no idea how much they are sandbagging, but I now think I know that either the first delivery cocooned in 20 days, or they (unofficially)started without Jon being in country. Did Jon deliver more of the same eggs? I know they are DS eggs that he delivered, but really....what does that mean?

Maybe oceans aren't the only things with waves. Hair....potato chips....and batches.
