drjohn, you are dreaming! Do you really think that, if Intel got rid of all their other divisions (even flash), they would be profitable at $30 per CPU? I think not. Perhaps they could cover the manufacture of those CPUs, but they certainly would not pay for R&D, marketing, finance, IS, HR and all the other things needed to run a company! (This presumes these functions are reduced to that which is currently used for supporting processors.)
I think you are confusing manufacturing cost with the total cost to run a company.
