A follow-up on previous conversation re: Etrade commissions.
My memory is becoming a little more clear. Part of the reason I have $2.95 commissions with Etrade, is because I had 2 accounts with Optionshouse....which was bought out and merged into Etrade
Optionshouse had $2.95/trade commissions on stocks, so that $2.95/trade price was honored after merging, even though I had 2 other acccounts with Etrade at the (whatever it was...$6.95/share?).
Weird that I would have 2 Etrade accounts with $2.95/trade, and 2 with $6.95/trade commissions lol.
Then, I received 100 commission-free trades for depositing $10K into Etrade, and I think what happened, (memory a little fuzzy), is after the 100 free trades were over, they moved my commissions (on the two $2.95/trade accounts) to $6.95 rather than back to the $2.95.
So I called and complained to see what they could do, and they eventually ended up reducing all accounts to $2.95. lol
