What are they going to do, review for toxicity ? Halt the trial ?

Makes no sense, from that angle.

The only "action" they could do would be "were done hooray !" and conclude early. No other action would make sense except "continue" and why bother, "duh"...

"futile" I don't think is physically possible or they'd have done it already.

And I don't think it is possible for even 9.5% to be 'futile'.

Sure, 10% is a goal, but FDA approves 7 and 8% lately
