Much of the tail-end stock value flows from shorts or hedgers looking to cover. To lock in their profit they have to buy their position back which can lift even an otherwise worthless security.

I've followed numerous BK stocks in many sectors going back decades and they always seemed to trade for more than one might think based purely on fundamental analysis. My experience long predates online trading. So you can't explain the price action entirely in terms of Slobbering Penny Stock Gamblers.
