Yes. $GE can institute an executive pay ratio that states the highest paid person in the company cannot make more than 20x the lowest paid worker at the company (a variation of Henry Ford's rule about executive compensation). This would eliminate the argument that executives are skimming at the expense of shareholders.

In addition, $GE should spin off it's non-core businesses and give shares in those spinoffs to then-current $GE shareholders. This would ensure $GE's viability without having to sell off the company at discount prices.

Both sets of measures would directly benefit shareholders who have seen a collapse in $GE's stock price.
